Candidate Comment
There are many important issues facing the town of Danvers in 2002 none more important than the school building crisis. It is imperative that the Town choose a building project and financing plan that best suits the needs of all the towns residents. The town meeting body needs to come together in support of the BAC's choices for building design and the Town Manager's financing plan. All other major town projects need to be put in the background until we have a school plan and financing in place.
The second most important issue is our dwindling water supply and the over development
of Danvers. What is the town doing to increase our water storage and limit development? Is
it time to consider limiting the number of building permits issued each year in the town?
I think it is. A plan to limit new construction is necessary. I know the towns hands are
tied by the 40B permitting. Limiting the number of new foundations will help preserve our
precious water supply.
